Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince Movie Review

Yesterday I finally got a chance to check out the movie adaptation for J.K. Rowling’s sixth book, “Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince”. I have to say, of the six movies, this one was my favorite. It didn’t have as much action as some of the previous ones, but it had a lot of character development and information in it. Sure, they changed some things, and they left a bunch of stuff out altogether, but overall I thought it was really solid. I was particularly surprised that… (Spoiler Alert behind jump. Dumbledore lived in this one! I’m kidding, but a friend of mine texted me the night before I went to see it saying that “Dumbledore lives in this version. I RUINED IT FOR YOU!” (REAL SPOILER WARNING) Definitely not as bad as getting spoiled that he dies before I got a chance to read the book though.

I’m looking forward to seeing how splitting book 7 into two movies works. The last I heard it was scheduled to be released in the summer of 2010, so I guess we’ve got a year to wait.
